Bio
Arjan Zazueta is a multi-disciplinary visual artist based in Brooklyn, NY. Exploring self-identity in a symbolic way, working from the premise that all forms of identity are a performance, his work comments on how culture, memory, and identity all intersect and overlap, and how we carry these complex feelings with us. He received a BFA in Sculpture from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2002 and an MFA in Sculpture from Syracuse University in 2009. His exhibitions include The John and June Alcott Gallery at UNC Chapel Hill, NC, Demo Project, Springfield, IL; Tilton Gallery, New York, NY; Rush Arts, New York, NY; Dog and Pony Projects, Buffalo, NY; Bemis Underground, Omaha, NE; among others. He has attended residencies at The Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, Vermont Studio Center, and The Ora Lerman Trust at Soaring Gardens. He lives with his partner Jennifer Bryan, a fiction writer and his daughter Sadie.
